Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and owner of The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she was able to move to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The first non-English student, she was elected president of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. The success of her conservative columnist was consolidated after she finished her degree. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few year later, she established an online voice-portal that provided critical opinions on the political situation. The celebrity she enjoyed allowed her to persuade a number of celebrities to contribute their opinion about current affairs, political and culture. Arianna became famous when she made the decision to run for a non-partisan position in the California recall election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. Apart from this she also directed an Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes listed her 12th in its top 10 list of Most influential women in the media. Guardian also included the Huffington Post on their top 100 list in 2010. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her president of the media group that also includes the other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list and Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. She was very close with her father. But it was the relationship she had with her mother that formed her. From her early years, she demonstrated leadership skills that are still highly regarded. at the age of 16 she emigrated back to United Kingdom to pursue her study and then enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. As a student she was a member of the Cambridge Union's colleges debating societies, where she eventually became its first foreign and female president. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was conferred. Following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and TV host. In addition, along with Bernard Levin she appeared on an edition of Face the music.
