Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin has been an actress in Canada as well as New Zealand for over a decade. Paquin is a native of Winnipeg was raised in Wellington and first made her acting debut in the role of Flora McGrath when she played the character in The Piano. She won an Academy Award at the age of 11 years old for Best supporting Actress. Anna Paquin spelled out Anna Helene Paquin was born in Winnipeg, Canada on the 24th July of 1982. She is a Canadian-born New Zealander actress. In 1993 she won the Academy Award at age 11 for playing the inquisitive and talking daughter that was Holly Hunter who played the main character. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of a mute Scottish pianist who in the middle of 19th century, moves to New Zealand for an arranged wedding after she accepted an audition for open casting when she was just nine years old and had almost no prior experience in acting. As a teenager, her family moved from Canada to the United States. Paquin appeared as Jane Eyre's protagonist as a teen in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre (2000) as well as the main role of Jane Eyre in Fly Away Home (2000). Paquin played Frankie Addams as a child in the 1996 television version of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin also had a role of the queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's 1997 feature film Amistad. She portrayed teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) and Almost Famous (2000). Also, she played the character of Polexia Aphrodisa.
