
Suzanne Pleshette (January 31, 1937 - January 19th, 2008) was an American theatre, film, television, and voice actress. Pleshette started out in theatre. She was a part of films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she was an actor of note in films like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (633) and Spirited Away (11). In later years, she was a part of several television productions and was often as a guest actor. She played Emily Hartley in The Bob Newhart Show from 1972 to 1978, where she received several Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette was the daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan), and Eugene Pleshette. She was born in Brooklyn Heights, New York City, on January 31 1937. The parents of the couple were Jewish immigrants from Russia and Austria-Hungary. Her mother was an artist, dancer, and choreographer who worked under the stage name Geraldine Rivers. Her father was stage manager of the Paramount Theater in Manhattan as well as the Paramount Theater in Brooklyn,
